Nantucket Looms Partner and Master Weaver Rebecca Jusko Peraner discovered a passion for weaving as a textile design major at the Rhode Island School of Design. Rebecca made her way to Nantucket, where she apprenticed under Master Weaver and Nantucket Looms Co-Founder Andy Oates from 1991 to 1995. She has called Nantucket home ever since. Her craft has included handwoven tapestries since 1998. Rebecca’s Sea Life Vignettes marry traditional woven structures with a beachcomber’s best finds into one-of-a-kind heirlooms. Her Sea Life Vignette tapestries are inspired by the countless shells she has gathered on long walks along the island’s beaches with her mother and daughters.

Rebecca’s woven vignettes capture a memory of a place or a moment—as she raises and lowers the warp threads on the loom, objects are locked into place, supported by linen and hand-dyed yarn. Rebecca works in collaboration with Nantucket Looms clients to create custom woven vignettes that honor a family’s memories, suspending special objects in time.

Expedited Shipping:
All orders placed before 12pm Monday-Friday will be shipped out the same day. Orders placed after 12pm Monday-Friday will be shipped out the morning of the next business day. Orders placed on Saturday, Sunday or holidays will be shipped the next business day.
