Cardinal on Driftwood | William Sarni
With their rich, red plumage and cheerful chirps, cardinals have long been a symbol of faith, hope and love. Handcarved by master craftsman, William "Bill" Sarni, these charming birds are a lovely addition to your holiday scape.
Folk artist William "Bill" Sarni grew up observing the natural world around him, particularly the songbirds, ducks and shore birds native to his New England home. Those observations have served as the subjects of his work, still finding inspiration watching these birds in their natural habitat from his own home set along the Weir River. Bill has been teaching at the Nantucket Historical Association's 1800's House each summer, where he shares his knowledge of carving with his students.
The base of these wooden cardinals are made of driftwood and therefore each one will vary from the image.
