"Boats II" by artist Megan Hinton captures the gentle rhythm of sailboats at rest through a palette of soft blues, lavenders, and airy whites. Created as a monotype, the work embraces the medium's expressive qualities, with layered color and gestural lines suggesting the gentle movement of boats across calm harbor waters. The simplified forms and luminous composition evoke the atmosphere of a Nantucket mooring field, where reflections, sky, and sea seem to blend together. Both serene and evocative, this one-of-a-kind piece reflects Hinton's ability to distill familiar coastal scenes into moments of enduring beauty.
