Taking It to the Beach
Reimaging the Beach Picnic

There is no doubt, this summer is unlike any other. Venturing out for a meal at your favorite restaurant or a stroll along the docks now comes with a little extra caution and care. While some of us are eager to experience the innovative outdoor dining atmospheres that have been created, others are still preferring to create their own outdoor dining experiences. We have come up with a few of our favorite products of the season to make outdoor dining and picnicking a little more special. So pick your favorite view, pick up your favorite take-out and make the most of the warmer weather.

With Bess's Jeep, we loaded up a couple bags of pillows, throws, easy to stack & pack dinnerware and some rosé to enjoy under the evening sun.

A few suggestions for an easy set up:

  • Driving onto the beach may be easiest. If not, a beach where parking and walking on is not too far like Cathcart, White Water Tower or 'Sconset Beach.
  • Durable tote bags are key. Some of our favorites >
  • Takeout takes grocery shopping and cooler packing off the to-do list and supports your favorite local restaurants!
  • One of our favorite beach essentials is a table you can breakdown and fit into its bag. It takes up less room in your trunk and is easy to sling over your shoulder.
Soft Seating

Freshen up your outdoor seating with our latest collections of indoor/outdoor pillows and poufs. Or grab a couple of pillows to bring to the beach as you lay your head back once the sun goes down to gaze at the stars.

Lightweight Serveware

Of course a beach picnic is not the time to bring out your finest hand thrown serving bowls and silver. Instead, we prefer lightweight mango wood, enamel and horn. The result is an eclectic mix of materials that can be easily rinsed out upon returning home.

Functional Greens

We love when beauty and function meet. Use potted herbs as both decor and a source of fresh flavor. An easy to way to add a lively touch to the table but without wasting any space. Pick some basil to top off a caprese salad or parsley on your favorite fish.

Natural Elements

we love adding organic elements to a table, especially when the echo the beauty of our surroundings. For this tablescape we were inspired by the textures of the seaside. The urchin bowls are a beautiful deep blue color and exhibit the irregular and rigid texture of the little creatures, a perfect pairing to the natural rattan chargers and a raffia accents and oyster dishes.
