CPO Jacket | Black Tweed
Since 1968, the CPO Jacket has been a staple of the Nantucket wardrobe—serving as a practical, more relaxed alternative to a traditional sports coat. The name “CPO,” short for Chief Petty Officer, references the jacket’s origin, inspired by the durable wool overshirts worn by naval officers. Designed to layer easily over a sweater, it offers a polished look without feeling overly formal.
Each jacket is hand-tailored using our handwoven wool tweed, produced in our Main Street studio, and lined with Liberty of London cotton fabric. This process ensures that every piece is one-of-a-kind.
Known for its classic style and coastal-casual sensibility, the CPO Jacket is crafted with heirloom-quality construction—designed to be passed down, to improve with age and wear, and to remain a timeless piece that never goes out of style.
