Linda Ryder is a Cape Cod–based artist who discovered her passion for painting later in life. A Nantucket native and long‑time Cape resident, she draws inspiration from the natural world — shifting skies, tidal patterns, and the strength found in coastal landscapes. Working primarily in oil on canvas, she creates paintings that carry emotional tone and movement, inviting viewers to connect their own memories and experiences to the scenes she depicts.
Ryder’s work is held in private collections and featured in local shops and exhibitions. Her creative process begins outdoors, gathering impressions, natural materials, and field recordings during her walks. Back in the studio, she translates these fleeting moments into lasting form, treating painting as a practice of attention and presence.
