John Carruthers

John Carruthers is the Visual Arts Department Chair at The Storm King School in Cornwall, New York, where he teaches Studio Art and Art History to high‑school students. He also teaches at the Artists Association of Nantucket, earning the Randy Goldberger Teaching Award in 2014 and the Mixed Media Award in 2013, and leads a woodcut workshop at The Art Students League of New York.
With an MFA from the New York Academy of Art and extensive printmaking study at Pratt Graphic Center and Hunter College, Carruthers has been creating and selling woodcuts for more than thirty years. His work is represented by The Gallery on India Street, the Artists Association of Nantucket, and Nantucket Looms.
