Penelope Scheerer

The combination of Nantucket's historical, nautical and natural treasures inspire Penelope "Penny" Scheerer. The island's various shades of blue found in both the sea and sky are captured in her paintings. Penny's connection to Nantucket dates back 52 years ago when she started summer on island. She eventually moved to Nantucket where she practiced law and was President of the Artist Association. Penny has worked mostly with acrylic paints, moving into mixed media more recently. Throughout her artistic career Penny has been mentored by instructors at the Nantucket Artist Association.
