Dale Rutherford

For fifteen years, Dale Rutherford's Nantucket Lightship Baskets and woven treasures have held a special place at Nantucket Looms. Today, Dale focusses on weaving "minis", precious heart-shaped baskets and woven cuff bracelets and bangles - the perfect Nantucket wrist accessory. When she is not working on her craft, Dale teaches local kids at the Nantucket Lightship Basket Museum, passing along to the younger generation a tradition first started by sailors during Nantucket's whaling heyday in the mid 1800's. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening and walking in the island's moors with her Border Collies.
