Notable local painter, Robert (Bobby) Frazier is best known for capturing the airy quality and shifting light of Nantucket's landscapes. With his signature sweeping brushstrokes, Bobby paints the kaleidoscopic clouds of a passing storm, incorporating vibrant shades of purple, pink and blue.
As Bobby explains, "my style is fairly loose. Even when painting in the studio, even without the plein air threat of rain or changing light, I find myself working quickly". His quick brush strokes make for a fitting parallel with how quickly the clouds and fog can roll in and change the colors of the island.
